Installing MOSS2007 on Windows 7

Some days ago, I got the official Windows 7 RTM from Microsoft installed in my computer. Later, I needed to install MOSS2007, but as many as
you know, MOSS2007 only installs on Windows Server. Well, that's not actually true, you can try the "Bamboo way" found on

On the other hand, you can use a virtualization in or
der to host a vitualized Windows Server 2003 or 2008 that would maybe be more similar to your final production server.
Microsoft offers free, already built systems in a VHD format that you can use within Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 - don't get confused with the new Windows Virtual PC found on Windows 7, the VHD images are not compatible at all. You can download the VHD files from:

As I said, when I tried to run the VHD file found on http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=67f93dcb-ada8-4db5-a47b-df17e14b2c74&displaylang=en within Windows Virtual PC, it didn't work. Then, I tried to create the virtual machine with Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, but it said that Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 was not compatible with my operating system! Damn! What the hell was going on there? Did I have no solution?
No worries mates! If you uninstall Microsoft Virtual PC - which is installed as a Windows Update, not as a normal program -, Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 will - after a reboot - let you run Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 and create your custom virtual machine.
